Business Intelligence Group's Best Places to Work Awards has a nomination deadline of Friday 11 December 2026 in its linked 2027 nomination guide. This is an employee-survey programme: preparing the nomination is only part of the work. Plan for participation after the deadline, not just a polished description of your culture.
The Calendar and Fee
The official nomination guide gives:
- Nomination deadline: 11 December 2026. No closing time or timezone is specified.
- Employee survey period: 5 January to 19 February 2027.
- Winners notified: 23 February 2027.
- Public announcement: 9 March 2027.
- Nomination fee: $949, collected when the nomination is submitted. The guide does not state a currency code or tax treatment; confirm these before committing your budget.
The guide asks for performances from the last 12 months, original work rather than duplication, and impact or potential impact supported by concrete measurements or analysis. Check the applicable performance period and your category directly with the organiser.
Plan for Employee Participation
The guide says the first 10 survey questions are mandatory and used to score nominations. Contests are determined by company size, industry and location. Participation requirements vary by size; examples in the guide are:
- Very Small Business: 1–10 employees, requiring at least 80% participation.
- Small Business: 11–100 employees, requiring at least 50% participation.
- Medium Size Business: 101–999 employees, requiring at least 25% participation.
These are examples, not the complete category list. Consult the guide for the other size classes and confirm your eligibility. It says survey materials and suggested employee communications are provided after nominations close.
Source Inconsistencies to Check
The programme page still carries older 2026 labels. For the calendar above, we follow the linked 2027 guide rather than those template labels.
The optional Employee Insights Survey is described inconsistently: one guide section refers to 15 additional questions, while its process section refers to 10 additional questions, or 20 in total. The programme page also describes the latter format. Confirm the current optional survey length with the organiser; we do not resolve that discrepancy by assumption. This report verifies the published deadline, not the availability of the live nomination form.
Use the Lead Time Well
Build a short evidence file showing a workplace problem, the action your team took and the measurable change for employees. Combine before-and-after measures with candid employee experiences, and separate achieved improvements from future plans. Our team-engagement guide can help you connect recognition to the people doing the work.
Identify who will coordinate the survey and review privacy arrangements before collecting responses. Explain the purpose and timing without coaching employees towards favourable scores or pressuring them to participate. These are preparation recommendations, not quoted judges' feedback or a guarantee of recognition. Check the current form and terms before paying.
