The final application deadline for Fast Company's World Changing Ideas Awards 2027 is Friday 11 December 2026 at 23:59 Pacific Time (PT). At this check, that leaves 53 days to submit. There is an earlier budget decision: the early-rate deadline is Friday 13 November 2026, also at 23:59 PT.
November is the lower-fee cutoff, not the final deadline. Put both dates in your plan and convert Pacific Time to your own timezone before setting your internal submission deadline.
What It Costs
The organiser's Help Center lists these dollar amounts:
- Companies with fewer than 1000 employees and academic institutions: $345 at the early rate, then $445 at the regular rate.
- Companies with more than 1000 employees: $545 at the early rate, then $745 at the regular rate.
The published wording does not assign companies with exactly 1000 employees to either band. Ask the organiser which rate applies rather than choosing the cheaper one by assumption. Check the current fee and rules before paying.
Show the Change, Not Just the Idea
The programme recognises products, concepts, companies and policies designed to make the world safer, cleaner, more sustainable and more equitable. The overview says entries are judged by Fast Company editors and reporters on impact, sustainability, design, creativity and scalability.
Use those criteria to test your story. What problem did you address? What changed because of your work, and who benefited? Pair measurable outcomes with a specific example or testimonial, and explain what could grow without presenting a projection as an achieved result.
The overview asks for projects launched in the past year. Check the current official rules for the precise eligibility requirements before committing to an application; a promising concept is not proof that your project qualifies.
Work Backwards From Your Chosen Deadline
Assign an entry owner, select the category that fits your evidence and agree who can approve the figures. Gather the baseline, results and permissions before drafting. Leave time for someone outside the project to challenge unsupported claims and review the finished application.
For a practical writing structure, read Crafting Winning Awards Entries. A lower fee is useful, but a rushed application without evidence is not a saving.
The organiser plans to list all finalists and winners online in summer 2027, with selected honorees also featured in its summer issue. That is a seasonal window, not a confirmed announcement day or a promise of print coverage for every honoree.
