Nominations for Victoria's Young Achiever Awards 2027 close on Tuesday 15 December 2026. The organiser's current Victoria page says nominations opened on 6 October 2026. For employers and young professionals, the career achievement and leadership categories offer a reason to turn a colleague's contribution into an evidence-led nomination.

Check Eligibility Before Writing

The linked conditions state that entry is free and open to people aged 30 or under on 31 December 2026. Nominees must have been resident in Victoria for at least 2 years; if they currently live elsewhere, the nomination activity must be relevant to Victoria. Each nominee can enter a maximum of 2 categories.

The conditions give a closing time of 23:59 on 15 December 2026, without specifying a timezone. Confirm the submission timing with the organiser rather than assuming your own local time applies.

Match the Person to the Criteria

The Konica Minolta Career Achievement Award asks for a career journey, examples of innovation and initiative, measurable impact, professional development and contributions beyond work. It recognises career progress within an organisation as well as building a business.

The Awards Australia Leadership Award does not require a formal leadership title. Its criteria ask how the nominee has taken initiative, influenced others and created positive change, including in business or the workplace. Both categories ask for a 60-word summary.

Our preparation advice: choose the category that best fits the evidence, then explain the starting problem, the person's actions and the result. Use specific outcomes and supporting examples rather than a job description. This is advice, not an additional entry rule.

Calendar and Publicity Checks

The current Victoria edition page lists judging on 3 March 2027 and the gala on 7 May 2027. There is a conflict: the conditions page instead gives the gala year as 2026. We follow the current edition page for the calendar; ask the organiser to confirm the gala details before making plans.

The conditions also say nomination information, photos and supporting material may be used for media and promotion, and nominees agree to associated publicity. Review what you submit, especially workplace information or images involving other people.

These dates apply to Victoria, not the other state programmes of the Young Achiever Awards.
