Entries for the 2027 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) opened on 4 November 2026. The entry deadline is 15 March 2027, which leaves 130 days from this check. The first date to plan around is earlier: the early-bird shipping deadline on 29 January 2027.
What Changes for 2027
- Three bottles per entry: producers now submit three bottles instead of four. Decanter says the fourth bottle was seldom used, and a fresh bottle is still opened for each judging round.
- Fee unchanged: £172, $241 or €215 per wine entry, plus 20% VAT if applicable. Decanter says the fee has been frozen for the third year running.
- Entrant webinar: every entrant gets access to a webinar with the competition's Co-Chairs once judging is complete, with a live Q&A.
Plan the Shipping and Deadlines
Shipping costs are separate from the entry fee. Choose the route before you register your wines.
- Early-bird consolidated shipping: £45 per wine, delivery deadline 29 January 2027.
- Consolidated shipping: £51 per wine, delivery deadline 26 February 2027.
- Late consolidated shipping: £60 per wine, delivery deadline 5 March 2027. It applies only to depots in France, Spain, Italy, the US, Australia, Portugal, South Africa and Croatia.
- Fair drop-off: £32 per wine at Barcelona Wine Week (8–10 February), Wine Paris (15–17 February) or ProWein (7–9 March).
- Direct delivery: no shipping fee, with delivery, entry and payment due by 15 March 2027.
Judging runs from 3 to 7 May 2027 for Bronze, Silver and Gold, and from 10 to 14 May for Platinum and Best in Show. Results are due on 16 June 2027.
Use the Feedback
Every wine entered receives professional tasting notes from the judges, whether or not it wins a medal. Treat those notes as part of what you are paying for: they show how a panel of experts places your wine against its peers and can inform the next vintage and your portfolio choices.
