Applications for the International Safety Awards 2027 close on 1 February 2027, leaving 90 days from this check. British Safety Council recognises health, safety and wellbeing management at a specific site or business unit. Its timetable does not specify a closing time or timezone; confirm the cutoff before planning a last-day submission.

Confirm Eligibility Before You Pay

A relevant senior manager must confirm that, since 1 January 2025, the site or business unit has had no work-related fatality, prohibition notice or health-and-safety conviction, and no ongoing criminal investigation or pending prosecution relating to that site or unit.

Country eligibility also depends on sanctions and the organiser's ability to carry out due diligence. The eligibility page describes the 2027 scheme but still labels its excluded-country list 2026. Ask British Safety Council to confirm your site's current eligibility before buying an application.

Resolve the Early-Bird Price Before Checkout

The main awards page now gives 16 November 2026 as the early-bird pricing deadline. The application product page still says the offer ends on 2 November 2026 and prices change on 3 November. It lists early rates of £457 for members and £536 for non-members, excluding VAT, and later rates of £525 and £616 respectively.

Those pages disagree, so confirm the rate actually available to you before paying. Members are told to log in first for their member price. The main paid application is separate from the free-to-enter awards, whose deadline is 1 March 2027; that later date does not extend the main submission window.

Build a Case Around the Site's Results

Read the organiser's linked 2027 questions and marking scheme before drafting. Written applications are assessed by an independent panel against a common marking scheme. Choose evidence that answers the questions for your defined site or business unit, rather than describing policies across an organisation without showing local impact.

Bring together performance trends, practical improvements and feedback from the people affected. Explain what changed and how you know. Leave time for the senior-management declaration and a colleague's review before submission.
