Nominations for the Northern Territory Young Achiever Awards 2027 close on Thursday 10 December 2026. The official edition page and conditions agree on that date. At this check, 51 days remain to recognise a young business owner, apprentice or colleague with evidence of their contribution.
This deadline applies to the Northern Territory edition, not Tasmania or another state's programme. Neither linked deadline page specifies a closing time or timezone; confirm the timing with the organiser rather than assuming midnight.
Check Eligibility Before Writing
The Northern Territory conditions state:
- Entry is free, with nominees aged 30 or under as of 31 December 2026.
- Nominees must have been Northern Territory residents for at least 2 years. If currently living outside the Territory, their nomination activity must be relevant to it. The residence-length requirement does not apply to the Charles Darwin University International Student Award.
- Each nominee can enter a maximum of 2 categories.
- Previous winners cannot be nominated again in a category they have already won for 2 years.
Check the selected category's criteria as well as these general terms. Do not assume that a rule for another regional edition applies here.
Match the Person to the Category
For young business owners, the NT Government Small Business Achievement Award asks about business history and services, community contribution, entrepreneurial and management skills, business development and staff training. Build the nomination around what the person changed and who benefited, rather than presenting the company's achievements without their role.
The GTNT Group Outstanding Apprentice or Trainee Award covers young people currently in an apprenticeship or traineeship, or who completed one in 2026. Its criteria ask for specific examples of excellence, initiative and leadership, plus barriers overcome. Both categories ask for a 60-word summary of achievements and impact.
Gather a clear starting point, measurable results and a specific example or testimonial that you have permission to use. That is preparation advice, not an additional organiser requirement. Use Crafting Winning Awards Entries to structure the story around evidence.
Review the Publicity Terms
The conditions allow the awards office to use and distribute nomination information, photographs and supporting material for media and promotional purposes. Nominees also agree to associated publicity. Discuss this with the nominee and check permissions before uploading staff stories, customer material or business information; do not treat the nomination as confidential by default.
The published calendar lists judging on 24 February 2027 and the gala on 10 April 2027. Finalists should endeavour to attend, but the conditions say inability to attend does not disqualify entry. Set an internal review date before the nomination deadline so evidence and permissions are not left to the last upload.
