Nominations for the Tasmanian Young Achiever Awards 2027 close on 2 December 2026, according to the organiser's current Tasmania page. For employers looking to recognise a young colleague's leadership or contribution to tourism and hospitality, this is time to gather evidence, not just a name for the form.
The Published Calendar
- Nominations close: 2 December 2026.
- Judging: 23 March 2027.
- Awards gala: 15 May 2027, at Crowne Plaza Hobart.
These dates apply to Tasmania. The Young Achiever Awards run separate state programmes; do not use another state's calendar for this nomination.
Choose the Category Before Writing
The official categories page includes the MAIB Excellence in Leadership Award, covering leadership across areas including business, and the Spirit of Tasmania Tourism and Hospitality Award.
For the tourism category, the published criteria ask how the nominee has affected their business or organisation, contributed to the wider industry and Tasmania over the past 12 months, and demonstrated exceptional customer service. The nomination also asks for a 60-word summary of achievements and impact.
Build the story around the person's contribution. Explain the starting problem, what they changed and who benefited. Support the result with figures and a specific example rather than a list of responsibilities. That is preparation advice, not an additional organiser requirement.
Check the Terms Before Submitting
The official pages are not fully aligned. The Tasmania home page explicitly invites nominations for 2027 and gives the deadline above. However, its linked conditions page still lists a closing date of 11 February 2026, a gala on 9 May 2026, and an age reference date of 31 December 2025.
We follow the current edition page for the calendar. Do not treat the older conditions as confirmed 2027 eligibility or fee rules. Ask the organiser to confirm the applicable age reference date, residency requirements and current terms before submitting; the conditions page provides an email contact for the Tasmania awards office.
